Jada Pinkett Smith and Gwyneth Paltrow Talk about Youth Watching Porn

Gwyneth Paltrow sat down with Jada Pinkett Smith and Adrienne Banfield-Norris in an episode of The Red Table, where the conversation turned towards what young people are learning from pornography.

Jada Pinkett Smith: Porn has really messed us up in some ways. Like, we’re supposed to show up… like, every single thing, I’m supposed to be there for every whim, every pleasure. It’s like whoa, whoa, whoa!

Adrienne Banfield-Norris: Right.

JPS: And that of the woman’s pleasure, doesn’t matter.

ABN: No.

JPS: It’s not ever thought about!

Gwyneth Paltrow: And then the other layer that I find disturbing is that because of the imagery that comes out and the consciousness that comes out around porn, I feel like girls – young girls – are getting the message that they have to be [ready for sex]. Like, that’s the number one priority. It’s so awful. It’s doing such a disservice.

ABN: Absolutely.
